Flame Resistance :

We do not use "flame resistant"(FR) cotton or rayon fabrics for our curtains. Cotton and rayon must be retreated every two years to maintain flame retarding characteristics. The chemicals used contains salts, which overtime dislodge and crystallize on the surface of the curtain, ruining the look and feel of the fabric. This is inevitable due to changing humidity levels in the air. Moreover, retreatments will wear out the fabric fibers, causing unhealthy levels of dust and particulates every time the curtains are opened or closed.

INHERENTLY FLAME RESISTANT (IFR) FABRICS WILL NEVER CAUSE THESE PROBLEMS.

Inherently Flame Resistant fabrics are 100% flame retardant for the life of the fabric. No retreatment is required because the very fibers of the fabric are inherently flame resistant. Today's IFR fabrics are machine washable, and should the unfortunate occur, extremely low levels of smoke and particulates will be released, unlike FR treated cotton and rayon. Modern IFR fabrics are more stable, retaining their weave, colour, and feel well beyond cotton or rayon. And, they are certified to require no additional retreatment, and this certification comes with all our curtains.. We think the choice is clear. All our curtains are IFR.

All our IFR curtains are sewn with synthetic webbing (headers), with snap hooks sewn into pleats and permanently reinforced with rivets. Our curtains are sewn with French Seams, with no salvage and no raw edges exposed. All bottom hems are sewn flat, with tape weights sewn into the hem rather than the curtain pockets. It's this type of attention to detail that makes our curtains the safest, most durable, and best appearing curtains in the industry.
